ACTING
WELCOME TO ITT.
Actors will embark on a fusion journey of Identification, Transferral, and Transformation. Performers will explore how to seamlessly blend personal experiences with essential skills, crafting emotionally authentic and artistically compelling performances. Delve into the heart of acting through transformative exercises, encouraging significant shifts in physical, emotional, and psychological states. By immersing ourselves fully in character, and altering perspectives, behaviors, and expressions, we unlock the potential for performances that resonate deeply with both the actor and the audience. Join us in the exploration of ITT. An integrated approach to crafting performances that are both emotionally authentic and artistically compelling.
Tobias Specker/Maartje van Amersfoort, The Netherlands 2024
We are a mother and son teaching duo from the Netherlands. Both with an official degree in Teaching Theatre, Theatre Making and in Teaching Film.
We have years of experience in various aspects of the theatre field. Currently we work for education departments of International Theatre Amsterdam (ITA) and The National Theatre in The Hague (Het Nationaal Theater). Also various projects at Improbattle. Besides that, we both have a permanent teaching position at secondary schools (in Haarlem).
We have our own professional working field and expertise, but we really love coming together and merge our strengths. The combination of our two personalities is something everybody always loves!
The Monologue – From writing to performing
Discover the beauty of writing your own texts, and the feeling of performing lines you have written yourself. We dive into the writing experience, and create your own monologue.
Besides, we focus on a different view on words and acting: not only the story and emotion, but also the power of rhythm, tempo and dynamics. We merge these two together, as you will also be able to perform your monologue within no-time.
This workshop consists of three parts, one part the speaking techniques, one part the writing, and the last part the merging of the two and performing. Your view on words will never be the same!
